Thank you for your interest in becoming a Zoo Ambassador Student Volunteer!

 

High school students in Grades 9–12 are invited to enhance guest experiences at special events throughout the year, such as Salamander Saturday and Boo at the Zoo, and during Zoo Camp in the summer months! This is a unique opportunity to interact with guests, develop communication skills, and contribute to the Zoo's mission at interpretive stations like Nature Play and Pollination Station.

Requirements & Perks:

  • Commitment of at least 30 hours per year (which includes training and Volunteer shifts at the Zoo).
  • Training is provided.
  • Volunteers do not have any direct contact with the Zoo's plants or animals.
  • Zoo Volunteers receive free admission for themselves and three guests, as well as free Zoomobile rides and a discount at the Zoo shop.
  • Zoo Ambassadors are required to obtain a satisfactory Police Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector search at their own expense upon turning 18.
