Stop by and see Mila and her family receiving fun birthday enrichment in her habitat all weekend long, with a special birthday cake on Sunday (her actual birth date!) This is the first of many events throughout the year that are part if the Giant Tiger sponsorship, which also includes a financial contribution to the Zoo’s tiger conservation campaign.

This Sunday (May 1), Giant Tiger will be onsite with some great giveaways, take a photo with “Friendly” the Giant Tiger mascot, and guests can take a ride on the Tiger Train, running from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Plus, GT VIP® Members always receive 10% off admission to the Zoo! This unique program helps extends Giant Tiger’s already fun and easy shopping experience with more ways to save and additional VIP benefits! For more information on GT VIP and how to become a member, click here.

“We are so excited to join the Toronto Zoo this weekend to celebrate Mila’s first birthday, only a few days before Giant Tiger celebrates its 61st anniversary,” said Cindy-Lynn Steele, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Strategy. “In addition to our commitment to support important Amur tiger conservation and research efforts, this partnership will bring some exciting opportunities to customers throughout 2022, which include in-person events at the zoo, special perks for Giant Tiger’s GT VIP customers, and an online digital educational series focused on tigers from across the world. Stay tuned for more exciting news coming soon.”

Why is this an important milestone?

The Toronto Zoo is committed to tiger conservation, and Mila’s first birthday is an opportunity for the Toronto Zoo to share information about ways we can all support critical efforts to save and protect endangered tiger species in the wild!

“AZA Accredited Zoos have contributed over $3 million towards tiger conservation efforts in the wild, and in 2021 the Toronto Zoo proudly donated $5,000 to the Species Survival Plan’s Tiger Conservation Campaign after partnering with Giant Tiger” says Dolf DeJong, CEO, Toronto Zoo. “It’s an important partnership, as these funds support in-situ tiger conservation efforts in Russia (the home of the Amur tiger) and Indonesia, home of the Sumatran tiger”.

We hope to see you here – and so does Mila!
