Join our partners from Native Child and Family Services of Toronto (NCFST) in recognizing National Indigenous Peoples Day. Celebrated annually on June 21, National Indigenous Peoples Day recognizes the culture and contribution of the First Nation, Inuit, and Metis people of Canada.

Stop by the First Nations Art Garden for a 10:00am opening smudge, learnings about what National Indigenous Peoples Day means, hand drumming, educational tables, exploration, and activities. The afternoon will conclude with a closing song at 1:00pm.

Your Toronto Zoo is proud to offer complimentary general admission to all First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people. Please note: Parking, Zoomobile, and other onsite attractions still require payment. For more information about complimentary admission, please contact [email protected].

In our newly released Strategic Plan, your Toronto Zoo proudly updated our mission statement to include traditional knowledge. Significantly expanding our Zoo conservation science efforts and connections to Indigenous communities are critical to this journey.
