Connect your Zoo Visit with Classroom Curriculum

Join Toronto Zoo Volunteers in an exploration of wildlife, curriculum content, and conservation initiatives. Our interactive Volunteer Stations focus on the Zoo’s animal ambassadors, with hands-on, exploratory activities to give you and your students an opportunity to connect your Zoo visit with classroom content.

Tundra Trek (Polar Bears)
9:30AM - 12:30PM Monday to Friday
12:30PM - 3:30PM Tuesday to Thursday

Visit this Volunteer station to learn more about how Arctic animals are adapted to life in the Tundra and the affect climate change is having on this fragile ecosystem. (Focus on adaptations and climate change)


Americas Pavilion
9:30AM - 12:30PM Monday to Friday
12:30PM - 3:30PM Tuesday to Thursday

Come learn about Canadian wildlife species and their habitats and hear how the Toronto Zoo is helping to protect them. (Focus on habitats, adaptations, growth & change, and conservation)


African Rainforest Pavilion (Gorillas)
9:30AM - 12:30PM Monday to Friday

Although gorillas are different than humans, we are very much alike. Join our Zoo Volunteers in about a discovery of gorilla adaptions and conservation. (Focus on adaptations, habitat, evolution, and conservation)


Australasia Pavilion
9:30AM - 12:30PM Tuesday to Thursday

Marsupials, Komodo dragons, and animals of the reef. Visit with our Toronto Zoo Volunteers to learn how the diverse habitats of Australasia has resulted in some of the world’s most unique species. (Focus on habitats, biodiversity, adaptations, and growth & change)
