Join Toronto Zoo Lead Keeper of Birds Robert Ng as he shares insights into the Zoo’s long-running conservation breeding and release program for this imperiled species. Robert will be joined by Jane Spero, Lead Biologist for Wildlife Preservation Canada’s Eastern Loggerhead Shrike Recovery Program, who will discuss on-the-ground recovery efforts that are currently underway for this songbird. Learn about population monitoring, habitat stewardship, research, and the conservation breeding and release program that is helping prevent the eastern population from disappearing.
Discover what makes the Eastern Loggerhead Shrike such a unique and fascinating bird, hear success stories from the Toronto Zoo and other conservation partners, and explore what it takes to bring a species back from the brink of extinction.
