BUSH CAMP OVERNIGHT INFORMATION HANDBOOK


CAMPER CHECKLIST


HOW TO PREPARE FOR CAMP


Please dress appropriately for the weather. Please ensure that all personal items are labelled. Here is a checklist of how you can prepare for camp:

  • Sunscreen - Please ensure that you bring sufficient sunscreen with you for the day
  • A labelled water bottle and/or labelled re-useable plastic cup
  • Change of clothes for the following day
  • Comfortable footwear
    Please ensure that you have comfortable shoes or footwear as you will be active throughout the evening. Running shoes are the best footwear for Bush Camp due to the walking during tours of the Zoo. Flip flops, Crocs, and/or insecure footwear are not recommended.
  • Sun hat
  • Rainwear or umbrella
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Mosquito repellent (optional)
  • Hand towel and wash cloth
  • Warm sweater/sweatshirt/jacket/raingear
  • Deodorant and other toiletries
  • Pillow, sleeping bag/blankets
  • Flashlight

WHAT TO LEAVE AT HOME:


  • Digital devices including radios, gaming systems, tablets, and portable DVD players
  • Valuables (money/jewelry)
  • Extra snacks and/or food
  • Non-battery powered lanterns

Please leave all valuables at home as the Toronto Zoo is not responsible for valuables and/or personal property that is lost, stolen or damaged.

LOST AND FOUND ITEMS

If you notice that you have left something behind after your Serengeti Bush Camp stay, please email [email protected]. All items left at the Bush Camp site that are not labeled are taken to the Zoo's main lost and found office which can be reached at 416-392-5905.
