International Vulture Awareness Day

Did you know turkey vultures find their food using their sense of smell? Did you know that vultures poop on their legs to cool themselves? Did you know that vultures can soar for six hours without flapping their wings? Want to learn more cool facts? Come on out to the fifth Annual International Vulture Awareness Day and see firsthand how the Toronto Zoo is helping vultures in the wild. PLUS compare your arm span to the wing span of a vultures and be sure to bring a camera so you can show the difference to your family and friends! Remember, bald is beautiful!

Please note, on Wednesday, 2018-03-28 a portion of the Americas Pavilion will be closed for a special event taking place from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. The Americas Pavilion aviary and primate wing will remain open during that time period and the full Americas Pavilion will reopen as of 12:00 pm.
