The Toronto Zoo and our Indo-Malaya Keeping Staff are holding a new conservation fundraising event support the three critically endangered flagship species of Sumatra: the Sumatran Rhino, Sumatran Tiger, and the Sumatran Orangutan.
This unique evening will not only include an Indonesian style dinner it will showcase the animals that live in the Indo-Malaya section of the Toronto Zoo, while giving our guests the opportunity to experience exclusive keeper talks, a tiger carcass feeding, the opportunity to bid on fantastic silent auction items, and participate in three live auctions to do a behind the scenes tour of our Indian rhinos, Sumatran Tiger, and Sumatran Orangutans, that evening! To see the Orangutan’s behind the scenes, is truly a once in a life time tour as we do not offer tours to the general public of the Orangutans and the holding area.
Our guests will learn about the plight these amazing species are facing, as well as what the Toronto Zoo is doing to help and the important role we all play in helping to protect and save these critically endangered animals by interacting with all of the Indo-Malaya keepers, Reptile curator and our Horticulture specialist will be on hand to talk about all of the flora that beautifies the Indo-Malaya Pavilion.
All funds raised from the ‘Saving Sumatra’ event will be donated to the International Rhino Foundation (www.rhinos.org) to support Sumatran Rhinos, the Tiger Conservation Campaign (www.support.mnzoo.org) to support Sumatran Tigers, and Orangutan Outreach (www.redape.org) to support Sumatran Orangutans.
Tickets go on sale Monday April 23rd 2018.
