Spring Into Easter at the Toronto Zoo

Friday, April 19 to Monday, April 22, 2019
9:30am to 6pm (last Zoo admission at 5pm)

It’s Easter Weekend, spring has sprung and we are ready to get outside and play! Join us for special on-site animal encounters, daily Meet the Keeper Talks, the chance of catching a glimpse of our Veterinarians at work in the Wildlife Health Centre, Animal Enrichment, Outreach Animal Encounters at Discovery Zone and Greenhouse Tours and more! As well we will be celebrating Earth Day all weekend long with fun earth facts at our Meet the Keeper Talks and a free eco-bag offer when you spend $30 or more at the Zootique or Greenhouse Gift Shops*. On hand for the Easter fun will be the Easter Bunny and “Benny” the Toronto Zoo Wildlife Care Outreach Bunny all in our Special Events Centre on Friday, April 19th and Saturday, April 20th! It’s a weekend that offers something for everyone so hop on over and enjoy this holiday weekend with your friends at the Toronto Zoo.   *while supplies last.

Fun With The Easter Bunny

The Easter Bunny will be making daily appearances and he’s bringing spring themed activities for the whole family to enjoy including Plant a Spring Flower*, Decorate a Cookie* and crafts. As well “Benny” the Toronto Zoo Wildlife Care Outreach Bunny will be on hand for meet and greets throughout the day.

Please note:  Decorate a Cookie activity is for children 12 and under and while supplies last. The Toronto Zoo will offer a limited gluten-free option however we are unable to offer peanut free options. We encourage those wishing to participate in the cookie decorating to bring a take-home container and bag for the Spring Flower activity.

Who Gets the Golden Egg?
Attending a Wildlife Care Keeper Talk this Easter Weekend? Listen carefully and ask questions as one lucky guest with the best question will receive a golden egg redeemable at the Zootique Gift Shop for an Easter Plush. One egg per talk. No cash value.

Easter Weekend Just Got More Egg-Citing - African Penguin Chick Viewing Easter Weekend ONLY!
African Savanna
11:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm

Visit the yet to be named female African penguin chick in the African Savanna from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm daily from Friday, April 19 through Monday, April 22.* This is a special limited-time Easter Weekend opportunity so don’t delay!

Take a ride on the Tundra Air or the Conservation Carousel and feel that Spring breeze. Both will be open, weather dependent, throughout the weekend.

Wildlife Health Centre:
This state-of-the-art facility is the first of its kind in Canada and further enhances the Toronto Zoo as a centre of excellence in high-quality animal care through veterinary and reproductive sciences, nutritional physiology, and conservation and wildlife research. Open daily from 10am to 4pm. Who knows, you may catch a glimpse of our Veterinarians at work!

Greenhouse Tours:
Take in a free tour and a chance to see some of the Zoo’s most beautiful flowers and plants at our Greenhouse on Friday and Saturday 10am to 4pm.

Daily Meet the Keeper Talks:
Choose from a number of Meet the Keeper Talks and learn about each animal’s conservation status and how you can help the animals in the wild by helping to protect our Earth. All in celebration of Earth Day! Also don’t forget to listen carefully for your chance to be awarded the Golden Egg and win an Easter Bunny plush!

Easter-themed Enrichment Treats For the Animals:
Not to miss out on the Easter fun, our Toronto Zoo animals will be enjoying a special Easter-themed enrichment schedule this holiday weekend. Watch as the animals are provided natural challenges such as a exploring for food, puzzles and feedings. Enrichment is important at the Toronto Zoo and we work hard to ensure that the animals provided a year-round enrichment opportunity. Check out our schedule below:
