The Toronto Zoo is hosting its very first Polar Dip where participants will have the chance to “dip” into icy-cold waters to raise awareness for polar species conservation! PLUS join us after your dip in the Special Events Centre for a ‘Post-Splash Bash’. Special Events Centre opens at 10am and all Zoo guests are welcome to join in the celebrations.

Registration fee: $100

A registration fee of $100 is required to participate, but don’t stop there! You can continue to fundraise by collecting pledges from friends and family, or even dare them to join you by participating as part of a team! Plus, your participation in the Toronto Zoo Polar Dip will raise funds to support conservation of polar bears at the Toronto Zoo and in the wild. Bag/coat check and change rooms will be available to dippers at no extra charge. Please note that all participants must sign a waiver before participating.

  • Top Individual Fundraiser
  • Top Fundraising Team

Virtual Dip:
Want to raise funds for polar bears without registering for the Dip? A ‘Virtual Dip’ option available online for those who wish to fundraise for the Polar Dip without plunging into icy-cold waters. Simply add the $0 ticket to your cart and proceed to check out.

Post-Splash Bash:
Join us for a Post-Splash Bash in our warm-up station at the climate-controlled Special Events Centre where visitors will get a chance to meet our polar bear Keepers, hear their stories, and find out what the Zoo is doing to help these iconic animals. You can also participate in fun and educational activities, including a silent auction!

Saving Polar Bears:
The Toronto Zoo is a champion for Canada's majestic polar bears listed as vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as they are at risk of becoming endangered due to climate change. Proceeds from the Toronto Zoo Polar Dip challenge will support the Toronto Zoo’s role in scientific research, education and saving and protecting the polar bear for future generations.

In all cases, the primary conservation concern for polar bears is habitat loss and reduced access to their seal prey due to climate change. Scientists predict that as the Arctic continues to warm, two-thirds of the world's polar bears could disappear within this century. Research also shows that hope remains if action is taken now to reduce the impacts of climate change.
