hornbill-mania Hornbills are a diverse group of birds native to Africa and Asia. Our newest and smallest hornbill at the zoo is a Von der Deckens hornbill from East Africa named Heinz. His eye- catching red-and-white beak shows off one of the key features of hornbills a casque that sits on the top of almost every hornbills beak. Although hornbills look top-heavy their bills are actually feather-light thanks to being honeycombed with air pockets inside.
