TORONTO ZOO NAMED ONE OF
GREATER TORONTO’S TOP EMPLOYERS FOR 2021

TORONTO, ON, Monday, December 14, 2020: Your Toronto Zoo is proud to be named as one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers for 2021, highlighting the best places to work in the region. Now celebrating its 15th year, the Greater Toronto’s Top Employers project is a regional competition to determine which employers lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces for their employees.

Employers are evaluated using eight criteria, which have remained consistent since the project’s inception: (1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement. Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.

“We are honoured that your Toronto Zoo has been chosen as one of the top employers for 2021 in the GTA,” said Dolf DeJong, CEO, Toronto Zoo. “Your Zoo has worked hard to create an inclusive and positive workspace for our incredible employees. They are a fantastic and diverse team who include wildlife care professionals, experts in veterinary, nutrition, reproductive and animal welfare sciences, conservationists, skilled trades, guest experience champions and extensive support staff. These many specialties enable your Toronto Zoo to operate our own city within a city to deliver the highest level of animal care and guest experiences here while delivering conservation programming that reaches around the globe. We are so proud of our staff and are committed to continuing to work with them to create a safe, positive and encouraging environment,” he added.
