AN ENCHANTED NIGHT WALK INTO A BRIGHT FUTURE

TORONTO, ON, Friday, October 18, 2019:Toronto Zoo is thrilled to officially announce the name and story concept of the Lumina Night Walk coming this winter - Terra Lumina: An Enchanted Night Walk Into A Bright Future.  Terra Lumina takes visitors on a journey through a luminous vision of our planet’s future. Passing through a portal, travelers will be transported to a fantastical vision of the year 2099, a time when humans have learned to live in harmony with nature, protecting our planet and the wildlife that calls it home.

Created specifically for the Toronto Zoo, Terra Lumina creates positive moments of connection. Vibrant lighting, multimedia effects, animated projections, inspiring storytelling, and an original score conjure an immersive future world that shares a message of hope for a brighter tomorrow.

The name Terra Lumina reflects a different way of seeing the Earth — through an optimistic lens  that imagines a brighter future for all those who call it home.

The symbol of Terra Lumina draws together the narrative threads of the experience to illustrate its storytelling arc and themes. It features the twilight portal people pass through to access the adventure, and what they will find there — the metaphorical seeds of change, the wisdom of future wildlife — and two stylized markings that express the change of perspective that happens during their passage through this enchanted world.
