ELECTRIC SCOOTERS
Electric scooters used for mobility purposes due to a medical condition are permitted. General scooters are not permitted at the Zoo.
The Toronto Zoo, one of the largest zoos in the world, has over 710 acres and 10 km of walking trails and many pathways. All our pavilions are wheelchair accessible, washroom and pavilion doors are equipped with automated entry systems, ramps are available in lieu of stairs and elevators are available on multiple storey buildings.
Please be advised that there are steep grades on the site and some of the gradual grades do not meet current accessibility standards. In particular, access to the Canadian Domain is via a steep hill and is not recommended for guests in wheelchair or use of electric scooters. The Zoo evaluates the accessibility of our buildings and grounds on an on-going basis to improve the experience for all our guests.
The maximum weight limit of the ECV is 350lbs.
Electric Scooters are currently unavailable for the season due to weather conditions. A limited capacity of wheelchairs can be reserved by contacting Guest Relations at least 48 hours in advance of your visit by calling 416-392-5932.
Toronto Zoo's Accessible Guest Service Policy, Procedures and Practices have been developed to fulfill the requirements of the Ontario Regulation 429/07, Accessibility Standards for Customer Service. This document is available upon request at Guest Services. For more information about accessibility and special needs services, call (416) 392-5932.
