Who can visit the experience? Is it suggested for children and seniors? Lumina is for all ages, however the experience is an average one hour walking experience, so we encourage you to wear comfortable and weather appropriate clothing and footwear.
How long does it last? Approximately an hour.
How much time can I spend visiting? Am I limited in time? The experience takes you on a journey through a story. The expectation is that you will be moving through the various sections but you will not be limited in the time you spend.
Is there a lot of walking involved? Yes, Terra Lumina is a walking experience, so wear comfortable footwear!
Is it accessible to all? Yes, Terra Lumina is fully accessible.
Can I take photos? Yes, we encourage photography, and there are a number of spots we have identified as strong “SELFIE” spots! No flash photography please.
How should I dress? Dress appropriately for outdoor weather conditions – the whole experience is outdoors and operates rain or shine.
Can we eat there? Yes, there will be concession spots open for coffee and snacks.
Are there washrooms? Yes, some washrooms will be available at the beginning and throughout the experience. Please note that masks or face coverings are mandatory in public washrooms. Public washrooms will be cleaned by Toronto Zoo staff regularly. Please adhere to staff direction when accessing washrooms.
Why should I purchase my ticket ahead of time? Tickets can only be purchased ahead of time as we have implemented a timed ticketing system during COVID-19 to help promote physical distancing.
Can I buy my ticket when I arrive? No. All tickets must be purchased in advance and online. There are no walk- up tickets available. Tickets can be purchased online at
There is a time on my ticket. What does it mean? The time on your ticket is the time your experience begins. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your ticket time to provide adequate time to prepare and get to the starting point.

Can I visit the experience many times with the same ticket? No, each ticket is valid for one visit only.
Do you have group rates? There are no group rates available for Terra Lumina.
What happens if I arrive late? We will do our best to fit you in to the next available spot, but best not to be late!
Why is it not possible to visit during the day? The experience requires the darkness as it is a multi-media visual immersive experience that only works in the dark.
Can I accompany someone with limited mobility. Do I have to pay for my ticket? Complimentary admission will be extended to those who qualify as support persons accompanying ticketholders for the experience.
I am a Member with a Parking Pass, will I need to pay for parking?
No – Zoo member season parking pass cardholders will be able to exit the lot using their parking card for the Terra Lumina experience.
Are there strobe lighting effects during the show?
Strobe lighting effects are used during this show. Guests that may suffer from epilepsy or are affected by visual light stimulation effects are advised to contact Zoo Guest Relations staff prior to entering the experience.
Can I bring my service animal to Terra Lumina?

Are face coverings required?
While masks are not mandatory, we strongly encourage guests to continue wearing facial coverings or masks when indoors, in closed spaces, or crowds. Please respect individual choices regarding the wearing of masks.
Are restaurants available on-site during Terra Lumina?
A limited number of the restaurant/food services on site at the Toronto Zoo will be available during Terra Lumina.
Will the Gift Shops be open?
Yes, the Greenhouse Gift Shop will be open during Terra Lumina.
