Love Wildlife and People?
Summer Information Volunteers being recruited

Friday, February 8, 2008, Toronto, Ontario: Toronto Zoo today announced their recruitment for new Summer Information Volunteers. If you are interested in wildlife, people, education and conservation then becoming a Volunteer at Toronto Zoo may be the perfect place for you! Enjoy learning and sharing your zest for life at the Toronto Zoo, one of Toronto's most beloved attractions.

Zoo Volunteers receive free admission to the Zoo with a guest, discounts at the Gift Shops, monthly Professional Development meetings, Newsletters, free parking and the opportunity to be a part of Canada's premier zoo family. Summer Information Volunteers are adults, 23 and older, who help out three hours per week, afternoons and evenings from May to August at the Zoo site. They stimulate the curiosity of visitors at outdoor interactive stations and provide information to visitors. The deadline for applications is Friday March 21, 2008. Check out the Zoo's web site at torontozoo.com/volunteers.asp or call 416-392-5942 for an application.

The Toronto Zoo recruits Summer Information Volunteers each February through an application and interview process. Selected candidates must complete a three-day training course in May. Weekday and weekend classes are both available. Volunteers work with the Education Branch and do not have any contact or handle the Zoo's animals or plants.
