Love Wildlife and People? Year-round Zoo Volunteers Being Recruited

September 7, 2007, Toronto, Ontario:Toronto Zoo today announced their annual recruitment for new Volunteers for their year-round Volunteer program. If you are interested in wildlife, people, education and conservation then becoming a Volunteer at Toronto Zoo may be the environment right for you! Enjoy learning and sharing your zest for life at the Zoo, recently voted the GTA's favourite attraction!

Zoo Volunteers receive free admission to the Zoo with a guest, discounts at the Gift Shops, monthly Professional Development meetings, Newsletters, free parking and the opportunity to be a part of Canada's premier zoo family. Volunteers help out one day per week at the Zoo site challenging the curiosity of visitors at touch tables, leading guided tours, and presenting outreach programs in the community. The deadline for applications is Friday September 28, 2007. Check out the Zoo's web site at torontozoo.com or call 416-392-5942 for an application.

The Toronto Zoo's Volunteer Program recruits each September through an application and interview process. Selected candidates must complete a 13-week (one day per week) training course starting in November. Weekday and Saturday classes are both available. Volunteers work with the Education Branch and do not have any contact or handle the Zoo's animals or plants.
