Friday, July 29th - Monday, August 1st
Join us for a globally recognized celebration of International Day of the Tiger, Friday, July 29th, and throughout the long weekend to celebrate tigers here at our Zoo and their wild counterparts!
There will be plenty to see and do at your Toronto Zoo, including exciting tiger enrichment, tiger sticker giveaways, the limited edition TigerTails BeaverTail, the Tiger Shop in Eurasia Wilds, plus opportunities to learn about tigers at every turn! To celebrate International Day Of The Tiger on Friday July 29th, the CN Tower will light up orange and black to promote critical conservation needs of tiger species. You can also see it LIVE at CN Tower's website!
In advance of International Day of the Tiger, join us for our first interactive Facebook Live series with Giant Tiger on Wednesday, July 27th at 1:00pm on the GT Facebook page. This is the first of four digital events in partnership with Giant Tiger to highlight tiger care and conservation. Giant Tiger will also be onsite Friday, July 29th, and Saturday, July 30th, with giveaways and a visit from their mascot Friendly, the Giant Tiger. We’ve also planned some enrichment for our tigers and opportunities for guests to learn all about these magnificent animals!
If you can’t join us in-person on International Tiger Day, you can still join us virtually! We will also be hosting a Facebook Live on Friday July 29th at 1:00pm with our Sumatran tigers on the Toronto Zoo Facebook page! Or check in on the tigers with the Giant Tiger Livecam and catch an interactive expert chat about the Amur Tigers at 10:30am or 1:30pm!
This year your Toronto Zoo and the Toronto Zoo Wildlife Conservancy are even more committed to supporting tiger conservation, and funds raised through the Toronto Zoo Wildlife Conservancy’s TZ For Tigers Campaign will do just that. In honour of the Year of the Tiger, your donations will support the Toronto Zoo’s ongoing efforts to conserve wild tiger populations, as well as support the tigers in our care through a habitat expansion.
