Drop off your old electronics and shoes for recycling and learn how these small actions can have a big impact on wildlife conservation and the environment.
E-Waste Collection
As an extension to our PhoneApes program your Toronto Zoo is organizing an electronic waste drive and invites you to help us repurpose your e-waste. The PhoneApes program which has been running for close to two decades at your Toronto Zoo has transformed discarded electronics into a lifeline for endangered gorillas. By recycling cell phones, the program not only mitigated close to 66,000 kgs of electronic waste, but also aims to curb the destructive mining of coltan in the gorillas' fragile habitats of the Congo rainforests. September 24th is celebrated as International Gorilla Day, and so as a way to raise awareness about preserving the habitats of endangered lowland gorillas you can be a part of this drive by donating your old electronics. Get rid of your old electronics in a sustainable way and be entered into a raffle for a chance to win free entry to the Zoo for yourself and a guest.

Shoe Collection
We are thrilled to invite the community to participate in our Shoe Recycling Drive at your Toronto Zoo. This initiative aims to promote sustainability and reduce waste by encouraging visitors to bring in their old shoes for recycling.
Please ensure shoes are clean and free of excessive wear.
