All Are Welcome!

Puppe in the new outdoor habitat

Celebrate North America’s oldest Sumatran Orangutan and the oldest resident at the Zoo!

While her exact birthdate is not known, your Toronto Zoo loves to celebrate Puppe every September to commemorate her arrival at your Toronto Zoo in September of 1973! Having arrived to your Toronto Zoo on September 7th, 1973, join us as we celebrate Puppe and honour the matriarch of Toronto’s Sumatran orangutans!

From Monday, September 16th to 1:00pm on Saturday, September 21st, stop by the Indo-Malaya Pavilion’s indoor orangutan habitat and sign a blanket that will be presented to Puppe on Sunday, September 22nd!

Puppe loves wrapping herself up in her collection of blankets – be sure to send Puppe some love by writing her a note on the blanket that she will continue to enjoy!

FUN FACT: All blankets and markers used to sign the blanket are non-toxic and animal-safe!
