TORONTO ZOO STAFF GO BUFF FOR POLAR BEARS

Photo credit: Brent Huffman. Toronto Zoo Staff

Toronto Zoo staff are doing their part to save polar bears by getting creative and braving the cold wearing only “polar bear buffs” to raise awareness about the plight of one of Canada’s iconic species. Polar bears are listed as Vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) with approximately 20,000 – 25,000 polar bears left in the wild. Climate change is one of the biggest threats to polar bears so the Zoo is selling buffs with the message – “Be Nice, Save Our Ice” to generate interest and funds to support the Toronto Zoo Polar Bear Program and conservation efforts in the wild. So buy a buff and do your part to help save polar bears!

The buffs will be sold this weekend at the Toronto Zoo Polar Bear Fest and Move Your Paws for the Polar Bear Cause run and will also be for sale in the Toronto Zoo Zootique and Online store.
