Giant Panda Cubs Update - Approaching 6 Month Milestone
TORONTO, ON, Monday, April 4, 2016: Our panda cubs Jia Panpan and Jia Yueyue are just shy of their six month milestone!
Both cubs are extremely mobile, playful, and showing more bear-like tendencies. Both enjoy their cuddle time with mom Er Shun, but are still very energetic throughout the day in between naps. Jia Yueyue continues to be very adventurous and is always the first to explore new areas and heights. Jia Panpan loves to play wrestle with Jia Yueyue, although she is not shy to instigate a play match either. They both continue to grow, with Jia Panpan now weighing 9.61kg and Jia Yueyue weighing in at 7.82kg.
You can visit our giant panda cubs daily, with last admission to the Giant Panda Experience one hour before closing.
to support our work in giant panda conservation.

What better place to implement sustainable actions to help wildlife than in your own backyard! Join the Toronto Zoo in our Earth Day Celebrations and learn about greening and naturalizing your backyard and community for wildlife. Join us for lots of information and kid-friendly activities from local organizations who are passionate about conservation to get inspired and learn how you can take action. This event will have activity stations distributed between the Giant Panda exhibit and Tundra Trek area of the Zoo.
Our Earth Day Celebrations are powered by green energy through Bullfrog Power!
Even small actions can have a big impact, and by greening your yard for wildlife, through planting native gardens, reducing water use, creating habitat for native species and many other possibilities, you can help the environment and create beautiful, natural yards to enjoy!
Looking for something more? Register for a workshop to get an exclusive hands-on experience and presentation. Money raised through these workshops will go toward the construction of a rain harvesting system for the Zoo.
