Father's Day Weekend with Spider-Man

Bring your hero to meet a super hero this Father’s Day Weekend at the Toronto Zoo!
Join us at the Courtyard Stage as we celebrate Father’s Day all weekend long with your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man!Use your spidey senses to spot all the spiders around at the Zoo or swing like Spider-Man© on our gorilla ropes course.

You’ll also be able to find lots of Dads around the Zoo so don’t forget to drop by and visit Charles our Western lowland gorilla, Jake, the Grevy's zebra, Bucky, the Babirusa, Goober, the Bactrian camel and more!

E-Waste Collection Event Update

What a success! Almost 860lbs of electronic waste was donated to the Toronto Zoo on Saturday, June 13th, 2015. Staff, volunteers and visitors donated monitors, stereos, keyboards, televisions and more!

 Thank you to everyone that participated, for contributing to the People Power Challenge through PhoneApes. We are delighted that these generous donations will continue to benefit our Great Apes through funding field conservation efforts.

This months Animal Enrichment Extravaganza will be at the Babirusa Exhibit (in the Indo-Malaya outdoor area) Saturdays at 1:30pm join us for a special enrichment feeding.
This wild pig species found in Indonesia are gifted swimmers and prefer to live near water. The males are also known for their bizarre circular tusks, which, if they’re not worn down or broken in combat, can actually grow long enough to curl up and touch their heads.

Sunday, June 21, 2015

In celebration of National Aboriginal Day, Toronto Zoo visitors will receive FREE admission with presentation of Aboriginal status card, Métis card, or a First Nations Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB) Client Identification Number Card. Turtle Island Conservation will be hosting a table from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm at the Toronto Zoo’s First Nations Art Garden (by Americas Pavilion) where visitors can learn about the traditional plants in the Art Garden and the work they do in partnership with First Nations communities to protect species at risk. There will also be live turtle presentations at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:00pm.

Masai Giraffe Exhibit, African Savanna

In celebration of International Giraffe Day join us as we honour the tallest and longest-necked animal at the Masai Giraffe Exhibit. Visit our special interpretive and artifact station and enjoy a special meet-the-keeper talk at 11:00am and 2:00pm to learn about these majestic species. Did you know there are less than 80,000 giraffes remaining in the wild? Find out how you can commit to conservation efforts to help this extremely vulnerable and amazing species at home and abroad.

11:00am to 4:00pm, Panda Interpretive Centre and Americas Pavilion

At Saving Wildlife Day visitors will have the unique opportunity to meet our conservation teams who work on special projects behind the scenes at the Toronto Zoo. Join us at the Americas Pavilion and the Panda Interpretive Centre for an interactive and wild experience. This new zoo event allows visitors the chance to talk, one-on-one, with our dedicated teams and find out about the important work they do in our onsite re-production labs, animal health care unit and about our captive breeding and re-introduction programs.
