Animals Off Display

For the welfare of the animals, the following are off display for the winter season:

- African Rainforest: Red river hog
- African Savanna: river hippo, white rhino, impala, kudu, ostrich, white-headed vulture, Marabou stork
- Americas: grizzly bear, capybara, jaguar, American flamingo, black-handed spider monkey
- Indo-Malaya: Himalayan tahr
- Australasia: emu, western grey kangaroo

In the event of inclement weather, some animals may be off display or given access to their inside holdings. Other animals may also be temporarily off exhibit due to routine medical check up or brief exhibit maintenance. For a complete list, please contact Guest Services at (416) 392-5929.

Toronto Zoo is Canada's premier zoo with over 5,000 animals representing 460+ species. Family fun is available all year round with walking trails, keeper talks and 6 indoor pavilions. Fall and winter are wonderful times to visit the Zoo with our ten kilometers of walking trails and home to all of your favourite animals! Then warm up with a hot chocolate at our popular African Restaurant or Peacock Cafe.
