To further increase resources offered at the Zoo, a number of external researchers work on various projects. As a result, strong partnerships have been developed with other research institutions. The Toronto Zoo encourages various students and researchers to work in collaboration with the Zoo on projects related to their area of interest. Seafood Watch


At Seafood Watch we help sustain wild, diverse and healthy ocean ecosystems that will exist long into the future. We do this by encouraging consumers and businesses to purchase seafood that is fished or farmed in ways that don't harm the environment. When there is scientific uncertainty, we err on the side of conservation.

The Toronto Zoo partners with academia in many ways, including teaching and graduate student projects, shared resources like equipment and technology, and via advisory committees on Zoo and University related research projects in situ and ex situ.
