Site 1 on north shore or in a shaded location
Site 2 in the middle of the stream or at least 2 metres from shore
Site 3 on the south shore or in an area that receives sun for most or all of the day.

These tests can be performed using HACH or similar water-testing kits. All kits include step-by-step instructions. For accurate results most tests should be performed immediately after obtaining a sample. If you are unable to perform the tests in the field, collected sampled water should be kept cool (in a styrofoam box with cold packs) and in the dark and conduct immediately upon your return to school.

Please note: Some of these tests produce harmful and toxic pollutants. Ensure proper disposal, as well as the safety and protection of the students.
