World Turtle Day

Every May we celebrate the diversity of turtles from around the world. World Turtle Day, held on May 23rd, brings together the connections of biodiversity and cultural diversity for a unique Toronto Zoo event. Join the Adopt-A-Pond Wetland Conservation Programme in celebrating the diversity of culture and mythology associated with turtles; learn how conservationists are helping to save turtles globally and how you can protect these amazing animals here in Ontario. Explore the pavilions to meet species from all corners of the planet, learn how to identify all 8 of Ontario's turtles by visiting our fun displays, and collect unique turtle stamps at each pavilion to win a prize! Our Blanding's Turtle mascot "Bobbers" will be on hand at the Americas Wetland Outdoor Exhibit for friendly hugs and photo opportunities while Adopt-A-Pond Staff answer your need-to-know turtle questions. Take part in our games, face painting and much more while learning all about turtles!
