Upon completion of this module, students will have learned how to:

• define vertebrate, and give examples
• describe the characteristics of amphibians
• identify the three distinct Orders of amphibians, and know which amphibians belong to each of the three Orders
• describe how living things are named scientifically
• identify key species of Ontario amphibians and will be introduced to the 23 species (by name
• define "cold-blooded" and ectothermic
• describe how cold-blooded vertebrates regulate their body temperature
• describe how amphibians reproduce
• describe the stages in metamorphosis
• demonstrate osmosis through an animal membrane
• describe the role of osmosis in the cells of amphibians
