Expected Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, students will have learned how to:
- describe how living things are grouped
- define vertebrate, and give examples
- describe the characteristics of amphibians
- identify the three distinct Orders of amphibians, and know which amphibians belong to each of the three
Orders
- describe how living things are named scientifically
- identify key species of Ontario amphibians and will be introduced to the 23 species (by name
- define "cold-blooded" and ectothermic
- describe how cold-blooded vertebrates regulate their body temperature
- describe how amphibians reproduce
- describe the stages in metamorphosis
- demonstrate osmosis through an animal membrane
- describe the role of osmosis in the cells of amphibians
