Penguin Awareness Weekend

Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1 2017
11:00 am- 3:00pm, African Penguin Exhibit

Calling all children, adults & penguin pals! Come and join us from 11:00 am-3:00 pm at the African Penguin exhibit where you can meet your lovable feathered friends. The day will be filled with special meet & greets, face painting, family activities and draws for unique penguin prizes. Don't forget to join us at 12:30pm for a special Keeper Talk, and 1:00pm for a penguin encounter!

African penguins are currently listed as an Endangered Species and it is projected they could be extinct in the next 10 to 15 years. The wild population has dropped 95% in the last 100 years. Join us this weekend to learn how YOU can help penguins in the wild. The Toronto Zoo participates in the Species Survival Plan (SSP) for African penguins, and 100% of the proceeds from a special silent auction and penguin merchandise sales at the penguin exhibit will be donated to the South African non-profit "SANCCOB" and their amazing efforts in seabird rehabilitation and reintroduction.
