Meet Our Cubs!

Please note: as they are still young, cubs may be in their indoor area depending on weather conditions and therefore may not be viewable.

Clouded leopard cubs

Clouded leopard cubs:

These two sisters were born on May 13, 2017 to mom Pavarti and Dad Mingma. Mom and Dad can be seen in the Malayan Woods Pavilion next door. Pavarti, who was a first-time mom initially showed good motherly behaviours; however, shortly after the cubs were born her attentiveness to them declined. To ensure the survival of these cubs, it was necessary to remove them for hand rearing by Torono Zoo Keepers and Wildlife Health Care Staff.

Snow leopard cubs

Snow leopard cubs:

The snow leopard cubs (one male and one female) were born on May 18, 2017, to mom “Ena” and dad “Kota”. Ena was born at the Tama Zoological Park, Japan. She arrived at the Toronto Zoo on November 17, 2015 to be paired with Kota at the recommendation of the Snow Leopard Species Survival Plan. This was her first litter.

Cheetah cubs

Cheetah cubs:

These five cheetah cubs (three male and two females) were born on April 30, 2017 to mom “Laini” and dad “Patonga”. The cubs can be seen on exhibit with their mom. The Toronto Zoo is part of the Species Survival Plan and the arrival of these cubs brings the number of cheetahs born at the Toronto Zoo to 53.
