Wetland Guardians Registry

Our Wetland Guardians program provides an informational resource for individuals and groups who are interested in wetland stewardship. If you have undertaken stewardship activities in a local wetland we encourage you to register your wetland and help others by providing details on how you completed your stewardship projects, such as sharing partner organizations, innovative approaches, or general advice. By registering with Wetland Guardians you have the opportunity to share your experience and advice with others. Please be as detailed as possible so that people can use your information to help them with their own projects.

Registering your wetland with Wetland Guardians does not provide the wetland with any protection from development or zoning changes, this is strictly an informational tool so that others can learn from your experiences as a wetland steward.

People who are looking for information on stewardship ideas can search the registry to see what others have done and how to get started on their own projects. Please return after completing your stewardship project to share the details of the project and add your own advice to the Wetland Guardians registry

Why should I participate?

The wetland registry links communities across Canada. It provides a forum where people can share innovative wetland conservation methods and build on others' experiences. Stories of success or failure to preserve wetlands may help to save wetlands in Canada!
