An Outdoor Theatre, Home of Family Fun Entertainment
Grab a seat in our spectacular Waterside Theatre, an .8 hectare (2 acres) amphitheatre facing east and overlooking the Toronto Zoo waterway. The theatre, which opened on June 27, 2003, has plenty of seating for Zoo visitors so they can participate, in comfort, in Family Fun Events including cultural festivals, children's shows and concerts**. The theatre is completely barrier free and is pleasantly landscaped with surrounding natural plantings. Utilizing the surrounding grass section, it can seat up to 1,300 people for an event and it houses a state-of-the art sound system and animal holdings. Waterside Theatre is Phase II of the Zellers Discovery Zone project. Phase I, Splash Island, an exciting 2-acre (.8 hectare) waterplay area, opened in July 31, 2002 and Phase III, the Kids Zoo, a dynamic, interactive children's wildlife experience, opened on May 7, 2004.
The Waterside Theatre is home to Family Fun Entertainment, providing great entertainment - from animal shows to concerts - for kids of all ages. It's free with the price of general admission and it's a MUST SEE!
